Clinique was launched in 1968 by Estee Lauder and has since become one of the worlds most popular makeup brands. Known for being fragrance free and allergy tested, it is aimed at those concerned about or have sensitive skin. They originally were famous for their three step face care program of cleanse, tone and moisturise, however they are also now well known for their makeup range which is seen to represent the values of their skin care range.
Clinique are particularly well known for their foundations, which are thought to be more subtle and sheer than a lot of their competitors, and reflects their skin care origins. Clinique cosmetics are also generally aimed at a younger market, which is another reason their foundations and other makeup products are traditionally less heavy than than other companies.
In recent years Clinique has expanded their coloured makeup line of eye and lip products, and they now have a large range of lipsticks, lip pencils and lip glosses as well as eye shadows, mascara’s and eyeliners.
